Back to School

I guess for you guys in the northern hemisphere it is time for the kids to return to school after the summer break.  I live down south and this all takes place at the end of January.  Given that, I actually made this card last January for a family who changed schools, to wish them luck.  I saved the card for this challenge at Creatalicious Challenges.

The image is from Stamp Fairy.  Unfortunately I can't find the image on their site to link directly to it and the title I have saved is August08, which doesn't say much!

For the Boys

Yes, it has been a while since I posted anything.  I have been having a break from the Christmas cards and I forgot to create a post for the last Creatlicious challenge (oops!).

Apart from all that, it is time for another challenge at Creatalicious Challenges.  This month it is all about boys and the sponsor is Stamp Fairy.  They kindly supplied us with this gorgeous image entitle Lenny Camping.  I have created a scene with "Big Tree" from Make it Crafty.  He is a little small, but I like the overall result.

I think I will give this to my nephew for his birthday next month.  Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Time!

Well, summer time for those in the northern hemisphere.  I am having to remember the warmth here midst the rain and gloom.  One week and we start heading back towards the light!  Yay! Half way to Christmas too!

For the Girls

Hello once again!  I know it has been a while since I last posted a card, but I do have a legitimate excuse.  I got a job!  Yes, after 7 years at home looking after my girls, I have returned to the work force.  It's one of the best things I could have done, but getting used to juggling a family and work has been fun and games.  I have been stuffed when I get home, which is when I usually sit and colour.

Regardless of all that, it is a new challenge time again at Creatalicious Challenges and this month we are celebrating all things female.  I have made a mother's day card, this one was for my Mother-in-Law, using a Papershelter image called The Florist.   I hope you like it.

Journaling

Another month has gone by and it is time to introduce the next challenge over at Creatalicious Challenges.  In recognition of the new year, the topic for this month is JOURNALING.  Therefore we want to see creations that reflect something that took place in 2012 or an event you are looking forward to in 2013.

My card reflects my families plans to move house this year.  It feels like a mammoth task, but we will get there!  The bird house image is a freebie over at Beccy's Place.

Pink & Turquoise Christmas

I can't believe that Christmas is nearly here.  Where did the year go?  Looking forward to the break from playing Mum's taxi and some go slow time in the sun and warmth (fingers crossed with the weather, Melbourne can be very temperamental!).

This month at Creatalicious Challenges we are looking to see all your Christmas creations.  However, there is a twist!  Throw away all your red, green, gold and silver bits and pieces, we want to see your pink and turquoise creations.  I must say this threw me a little as I completely forgot about the twist when I selected my image from this months sponsor - Cedar Chest Designs.

 Despite that, I think it has come up quite nicely.  I have used two images: "Christmas Welcome" and "Holiday Lampost".  I have actually only used the top half of the lamp post to create some wall lights.

First DT Post!

One thing I have always wanted to do, but been hesitant to do, was get onto one of the many design teams around.  I have applied a few times in the past, but nothing came of it.  Well, that has all changed!  I have been invited to join the design team over at Creatalicious Challanges and I'm thrilled.

Well this first challenge has definitely been that, A CHALLENGE!  The challenge for October is Halloween.  I have never done anything Halloween related in my whole life.  I have no images, or anything in my stash remotely spooky or appropriate.  "No worries!" I say, "I'm off to a craft show tomorrow and will be able to pick up some stuff".  Not a single thing was there.  If you were looking for Christmas stuff, you were laughing.  So, I managed to find some purple paper, a spooky house chippy and a gate die that would adapt.

Now to make something.  However, I only have that night to make my creation.  I'm off to sunny Queensland (bring on the warmth and sun!) the next day and have to upload it before I go.  Needless to say, it was  a bit of a late night, but I enjoyed myself in the process.  This is what I came up with.
