Barley There

I am so glad that I had my image coloured well in advance for this challenge.  The weather was horrendous last week.  Four days in a row over 41 C with two of those days reaching 44 C and no air conditioning at home.  It's just so hot, all I did was flop on the couch and watch the tennis.  I was very glad to go to work that week.

This fortnight challenge at ABC Christmas Challenges as B - Barley there.  So put away all those embellishments, lace etc and go back to the land of simplicity.  My card uses a stamp from the Stampin Up! set "For the Birds".

Thanks for dropping by and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Reindeers

Hi everyone.  This fortnight we have the theme of R for Reindeers at ABC Christmas Challenges.  I'll be honest, this was a very quick creation.  I coloured the image for S in and only realised at the last minute.  At least I'm all ready to go for the next challenge!

The image is Reindeer Gift by QKR Stampede, one of the sponsors for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and best of luck!

T is for Transparent

Hi everyone!  I have finally been able to get back on the ABC Christmas Challenges schedule.  I took a break, but ended up with appendicitis, so would have missed the time regardless.  Then my daughter got sick!

This time round the challenge is to include something transparent on your creation.  I have created a recessed window card.  I covered the top of the recess with acetate after stamping it with the children sledging (SU "Welcome Christmas") as my transparent element.  The background stamp is also from SU, "Lovely as a tree".

The photo isn't too crash hot, (this is the best of a bad bunch), but it gets the idea across.

This challenge is sponsored by Stamp Fairy who are offering a $10 voucher to spend at their store.  Good luck to all those who enter!

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Bow

I have had the idea for this card in mind since I purchased the digi, but never did anything about it.  With the current challenge at ABC Christmas Challenges being "Bows or Boys", I made the effort to sit down and make it!  I tried a higher contrast colour combo than I usually use as an experiment and I think it came up ok.  I always wanted the card to be very simple, making the bow the focus.  The image is from Sans Designs - Ribbon.

The photo isn't the best, but thanks for stopping by.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Creative Creations Challenge - Keep it Simple
LEJ Designs - Use two stamps
Outlawz Challenges - Copic Coloured Christmas

ABC Christmas - I made the DT!

As you can probably guess from the heading of this post, I made the DT team over at ABC Christmas Challenges.  I am so pleased to make the team.  Everyone seems very lovely and welcoming.  As an added bonus, I will have all my Christmas cards done for next Christmas well in advance.  Think I'm going to have to trial different colour combos or I am going to be so sick of red and green well before Christmas arrives!

We are up to the letter B and this fortnights challenge is "Bows or Boys".  I've gone with the bow option, which is probably stating the obvious.  I figured if we are going to put bows on, let's put BOWS on.  This is my card:

This challenge is sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps and The Ribbon Reel.  I have use the Bugaboo image "Reindeer Trio", I just loved it.  So grab out all those Christmas stashes and get creating!

Z is for Zoo Animal

I made this card especially for the current ABC Christmas Challenge as they are having a DT call at the moment.  Given the title, you need to create something with animals.  I swear things take twice as long when you are trying to make something special and this was no exception.  You want everything to be just right.  The best stuff always evolves when things just flow...  this will have to do though.

I have used the Lili of the Valley stamp "Party Presents".  It isn't a Christmas stamp, but I figured it was adaptable.  This was the first stamp I ever got from Lili of the Valley and boy was it a challenge.  There are so many little fiddly spaces to try and get into with a nib that seems twice as large as normal.  I love the little mice though.  I don't know about the rest of the world, but we have mice in our zoos here in Australia.  They are Australian native mice, so I figured it fitted in with the spirit of the challenge.

After all that, here is what I made.  I hope you like it.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenges - Z is for Zoo Animal.
Artistic Inspirations - Celebrations/Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - New (Ribbon, Die and Stamps are new)
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge - Furry Friends
Emma's Cards UK - Animals

Button Up!

It's time again for another challenge over at DCC & Friends Challenges.  This month we are looking for cards with buttons on.  My card is not an original design.  I found the idea on Pintrest (sorry not sure who was the original designer) and just loved it.  I'm not one for using buttons, so it helped me immensely.

This month we are sponsored by DCC & Friends and this wonderful prize will be going out to the lucky winner.

Girls on the DT look forward to seeing what you create.  You have until January 31st to upload you entry.  Best of luck!

Nearly there

Yes, it is nearly Christmas and I am still making Christmas cards!  I left this one quite late as I knew I would be seeing my Mother-in-Law and she wouldn't mind a bit of a late one.  This is the card I have made for her, using a Lili of the Valley image she gave me (thanks Ilse!).  Funnily enough, it is the same image she used for my card.
